January round-up: rainbows, rushing around and Roald Dahl

So January is almost over. Thank goodness! I don’t mind January, but prefer other (warmer, less wet and cold) months. This month is usually a fairly quiet time of year after the Christmas rush but this one has been especially busy. And especially wet!

New years eve London 2012

Hello 2013!

So getting back into the swing of things has be tough this week, emerging from the warm duvet of Christmas is not nice! Anyway, it’s got to be done, and the list making, New Year’s resolutions and new projects are starting to kick in. Here’s a few photos to sum up the first week of 2013.

Happy New Year! Watched the fireworks in London this year – and it was amazing.

Getting organised! Filing, spreadsheets, tax return… you know the score – must keep on top of it this year!

Eating healthily, which I’m usually OK at, but need to get back on track. I won’t go into detail about my fitness plans, if you here nothing more about this, then nothing probably happened!

Tiding up after the madness of the holiday season. These are simply tin cans with paper wrapped round them, my mum has made lots and they’re pretty useful for storing lots of bits and pieces.

Hope you are all having a great 2013 so far – have you got any resolutions??

January’s fabulous photo

At the end of each month I will be posting a fabulous photo, one that sums up the season or what I’ve been up to. So here is the first – for January.

I actually took the picture yesterday, on an epic walk around Wendover Woods in the Chilterns. It took 3 hrs, was cold and misty and grey but beautiful. The woods felt mysterious and wise; we imagined a band of orcs or Robin Hood waiting around the corner. Half way round we ate our sandwiches at the picnic area in the woods. I couldn’t have been happier.

Today it is quite painful to move.

You can download your copy of the walk here – it’s walk 17 – we did the 7 mile version.

Do you have any January pics to share?
